Welcome to my classes in

Fleet

Sue Emmett

speech bubbleEmail Sue   phone01252 501910

My name is Sue and I run Monkey Music’s wonderful classes for pre school children in the Fleet area.

As a primary school teacher with twenty five years’ classroom teaching experience I can truly appreciate just how fantastic Monkey Music can be, not only for babies and toddlers, but for mothers, fathers, grandparents and carers too!

Monkey Music classes are age related, the four different curricular are perfectly matched to suit the different age groups and are inspiring to teach! They are continually being up-dated to keep them fresh. Classes include a lot of singing, playing good quality musical instruments, and different activities using an array of fabulous resources to reflect the theme covered at the time.

My dedicated teachers and I are ready to warmly invite you and your children. So please do come along for a complimentary class so you can see for yourself!

Children’s Music Groups in Fleet

There are an abundance of children’s music activities in the Fleet area and choosing the right one for you and your child can be daunting. For me, activities in music classes should show a development of skills through singing and learning to play proper musical instruments. Children should have the opportunity to move to the pulse of the music as well as having fun with different, sensory props helping to bring meaning to each song. Classes should be appropriate to the age of the children in the class. The four Monkey Music curricula are very cleverly written, the babies and toddlers are enjoying the activities and music so much they don’t realize they are learning! Your whole family will quickly become involved as you sing along to your CD at home or log on to the Little Monkey Club!

Dedicated teachers

Teachers in a music class should show a high level of commitment and will make you and your child feel welcome from the start. At Monkey Music our teachers go through a rigorous training program before taking on their own classes. On top of this we are able to attend two training sessions a year where we share new ideas, ready to learn new ways of presenting a song or create new children’s music activities to teach to our classes. Every Monkey Music family gets to know their teacher and this familiarity helps learning as the children gain confidence. Each teacher is carefully chosen for their natural ability to communicate with and entertain young children and their carers, gently encouraging social and musical skills within a fun, stimulating and friendly environment. Every family is made to feel special.

Header 4 Sue Emmett is a Monkey Music winner!

It was my great privilege to have been recognised with a top award in the annual Monkey Music Franchisee Awards 2015!

I was presented with my award by Monkey Music Founder and CEO, Angie Coates, at the Company’s recent Annual Franchise Conference held in Harpenden.

I was obviously delighted to receive this award, I love my work with Monkey Music – sharing the wonder of music with young families is always a pleasure – and I’d like to thank all my wonderful teachers for helping me to share that experience.

Angie Coates Founder and CEO of Monkey Music said;

“It’s been another great year at Monkey Music and Sue’s success is a perfect example of how that’s being achieved, all across the UK.

I’m sure every local young family in Fleet will be delighted to know they have some of the very best pre-school music classes in the country.

We wish Sue and her team all the very best for another amazing year!”

Monkey Music – how it all began and developed

The Monkey Music curricula were created by Guildhall School of Music & Drama graduate Angie Coates, Monkey Music’s Founder and CEO.  Classes first opened in London in 1993 and Monkey Music’s popularity led to the company being franchised in 1998. Forty eight franchises currently operate in over more than 300 locations across the UK.

Monkey Music classes can take place in a kindergarten, nursery, and pre-school as well as the local church hall, community centre and village hut. Here at Monkey Music Fleet as well as teaching our regular classes we also teach in three different Nurseries, pre-schools and kindergartens. The parents of these children will often bring them along to Monkey Music workshops in the holidays and so we are able to meet the family which makes their Monkey Music session at pre-school even more special.

The benefits of exposing music to young children

Children’s music activities aid the development of speech. Singing a simple song teaches your child how language is constructed. Music helps children to learn maths. Music enhances social skills. Music enhances your young child’s intellectual development. Music encourages self-expression and self-confidence.

Babies are engaged through gentle songs, fascinating sounds and absorbing activities.

Young toddlers love being up on their feet so lots of dancing and moving encourages the children to explore the space around them and express the music they hear.

Toddlers thrive on the ‘pulse’ and are very enthusiastic young members of the Monkey Music band.  Parental involvement is positively encouraged. Themed classes and bold colourful props captivate the children and encourage everyone to get involved and they are learning the whole time.

By the age of two, children can really express the joy that music brings them.  They sing, dance, play, move, tell stories, speak, and listen to music together.

Monkey Music teaches the children to develop their sense of pulse whilst playing in time to Monkey Music songs and games. Hoops, parachute games and circle dances are always popular!

Up until now the children have been listening and responding to music they hear. By three years old their ears have been ‘finely tuned’ Monkey Music teaches them what music means when they see it written down.

Reading simple traditional musical notation comes easily to Monkey Music children as it is integrated into the final part of our interactive curriculum. The children are learning to watch as well as listen.

Fun for the whole family

The whole family can benefit from attending a Monkey Music class in Fleet. All pre-school children love to work with mum, dad, grandparents, aunty, uncle and busy parents often send their children to Monkey Music with a different carer. Songs learnt can then be sung at home with the rest of the family, toddlers love to teach their songs to their parents.
