What a brilliant term! I am thrilled that Monkey Music has been nominated for the two prestigious awards: Best National Baby & Toddler Development Activity and Best National Pre-Schooler Development Activity by Whatson4littleones 2010 awards. In addition, I am delighted to have been nominated in the Most Outstanding Activity Leader category - also by Whats On 4 Little Ones! And then the icing on the cake was to win the Monkey Music new franchisee 2010 Award!

My name is Elen Môn Wayne and I have been running and teaching Monkey Music in this area since June 2008. The time has gone so quickly and Monkey Music in this area has grown at an incredible rate. A big thank you to all who have recommended us to friends! The standard of the curriculum is exceptional, which is why I chose Monkey Music to become an integral part of my life - and I'm having such fun! I first heard about Monkey Music during a performance of 'The Sound of Music'! A fellow nun in the cast told me about it. Her enthusiasm was so infectious that the very next week I observed some classes. What I saw that day in Chelsea made me decide to pursue my own franchise. Monkey Music has such a strong following in the London boroughs and now it is gathering strength here too.
Until a year ago, I worked full time in Music theatre. My last performing job was a two and a half year run as Sister Sophia in 'The Sound of Music' at the London Palladium - sharing the stage with Lesley Garrett and Connie Fisher. I have worked as a soloist in the West End for the past 10 years - I have been in 'The Phantom of the Opera' and am a proud owner of an Olivier Award for my role in 'Jerry Springer the Opera'.
I was brought up in a musical household. As a child I was always singing and performing. I played the piano and the harp. A graduate of Aberystwyth University and The Royal Northern College of Music, I studied performance, drama and singing before going on to be a professional singer.
I am loving my family life. Life beyond 8 shows a week is lovely. I have two fantastic children, who are of primary school age, and a lovely husband. Alongside me is Tessa Spong, who is also a professional singer, a music graduate, an experienced teacher and a mother of two. Tessa is extremely popular with the children and the grown-ups! She has a wonderful nature and a truly beautiful voice.
I have been looking for some time for a third teacher to join us here at Monkey Music Amersham, Beaconsfield and The Chalfonts and I have finally found someone who I believe is absolutely right for us. Her name is Katie Healy. Katie teaches Monkey Music at the highly successful Chelsea and Westminster franchise and some of you may already know her as she teaches dance for Stagecoach locally in Marlow and High Wycombe.
If you would like to have fun at a Monkey Music class, meet other mums and carers and see your child develop in social and interactive skills as well as musically, then do please get in touch.

Thank you
Thank you for all your lovely comments.....it is wonderful to hear that you enjoy the classes as much as your little ones. If we do succeed, as some of you have said, in making your Monkey Music morning a 'special time', then we are incredibly pleased.

What's On 4 Little Ones Awards 2010
You may be aware that Monkey Music won Best Toddler Development Award from What's On 4 Little Ones in 2008. Well, we are nominated for the following What's on 4 Little Ones 2010 Awards:
'Best National Baby and Toddler Development Activity
Best National Pre-Schooler Development Activity
Most Outstanding Activity Leader
When one of our mums nominated us, she said: 'as an ex-speech therapist, I have absolutely no doubt that the routine and high level of stimulation - both auditory and visual - has contributed significantly to my son's language development...it is a wonderful social opportunity for both children and parents and I have recommended it to everyone I know. Recognition is deserved for the significant contribution made to little people's lives and I am therefore delighted to recommend Monkey Music Amersham, Beaconsfield and The Chalfonts for this award.'
One of the great rewards for Tessa, Katie and I is that we really do enjoy our time with your little ones, and we feel privileged to be a part of their development.

Extra classes and days for our Autumn Term:
We have added extra Monkey Music days to cope with the waiting lists for some of our classes. We now have an extra day planned in Gerrards Cross on a Monday from September and will add the Community Centre in Flackwell Heath as an additional venue for us on a Friday - again from the Autumn term.
