Hello and welcome to Monkey Music Bournemouth!My name is Esther and I have recently relocated from North London, where my own Monkey Music story began 3 years ago. I took my baby son, Sam to classes at 6 months old and we were both totally captivated from the start. The standard of classes is superb, offering the perfect combination of new themes and weekly favourites to engage the children and keep them enthralled week after week. We laughed loads and I was so proud to watch Sam progress through the curriculum to Ding dong classes, where he began to read music and beat out rhythms on his drum. More recently, I've been enjoying Rock 'n' roll classes with my baby girl, Isla. It's magical to watch the babies' responses to new sights and sounds and Isla has swiftly developed from listening and watching to jigging along, clapping to the beat and shaking bells and maracas. The Monkey Music songs and actions are guaranteed to soothe her at fractious moments. In fact, Monkey Music songs and games have entertained the whole family on many a rainy day at home. I grew up in a family of singers and have always been a keen performer, whether singing or dancing. My passion for everything creative led me to an arts degree, which was followed by a career in fashion retail as a Visual Marketing Manager. Before Sam was born, I travelled the UK as a freelance consultant to train and develop staff; but it's being with children and helping them learn that I have always loved and found to be the most rewarding experience. Since becoming a mum, I've worked as a voluntary classroom assistant and when I knew I would be relocating, running a Monkey Music franchise was the perfect way to bring together my love of children, teaching and creativity. We have had so much fun this term with our dressing up and animal themes. Here are just some of the highlights: The Jiggety jig Monkeys showing off their favourite fancy dress in class; seeing the wooden spoons they took home; returning in their incredible outfits; watching the smiles of Heigh ho monkeys when our noisy farmyard animals appeared from Monkey's magic box; the enraptured faces of Rock'n'roll babies listening to Monkey's percussion instruments. You would never imagine a room of 10 babies could be so still and quiet! |
