Hello and welcome to Monkey Music Bury St Edmunds, Diss and Newmarket. My name is Sarah and I am delighted to bring Monkey Music to Suffolk.Ever since I can remember I have loved music and, at the age of 7, began both piano and violin lessons. As the years went by the piano took centre stage and when I went on to do my music degree this became my first study instrument. Since graduating all those years ago(!) I have successfully gone on to become the proud owner of two further music certificates; in teaching and Grade 8 singing. I am now an established piano teacher in the area with pupils ranging in age from 6 to 60! Along the way I have also worked part-time in music publishing and spent a few years teaching class music to primary children. These days I juggle teaching the piano with drums, tambourines, maracas, bells, crazy props and my daughter Chloe! My interest in Monkey Music began several years ago when I was looking for yet another challenge in my life! It was at this time that an advertisement for Monkey Music caught my eye. More than anything I was intrigued and before I knew it I was on the phone arranging to go to London to watch some classes. Well, need I say more?! I was so impressed by the whole experience and came away that day with such a positive feeling, that I was inspired to set up an area of my own! I am absolutely thrilled that classes have proved to be a huge success with the little monkeys of Suffolk - we have had such fun and even managed to hit the headlines in the local press on several occasions!
