Hello! My name is Emma Loyns and I’m very excited to be running Monkey Music Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend. Let me tell you a little about myself...I have a strong musical and educational background and came across Monkey through having my first baby, my daughter Maddison, in February 2007, who has since been joined in 2008 by her little sister Lillia, another enthusiastic little Monkey!. As a classically trained musician I have high standards and I fell in love with Monkey Music from my first experience. What better way to introduce such young children to the benefits of music?! I studied music as a young child myself and learnt the flute from the age of 7. I played for several youth orchestras having completed a special award in music on flute, piano and voice, I went on to study for my music honours degree at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London. During the second year of my degree I studied flute and piano at the Janacek Academy of Music, Brno, Czech Republic, and then in 2001 I studied for my PGCE in Cardiff and have been teaching secondary school music ever since. I also have experience of teaching piano, flute and percussion which I did privately for many years. I’m hoping all this experience and my outgoing personality will continue to inspire our very own young monkeys! The Monkey Music Vale and Bridgend teaching team includes music graduate and professional soprano, Zoe Perman. Zoe has been at Monkey Music Vale and Bridgend since May 2009 and teaches the classes in Penarth, Barry and the Vale. Please check the timetable below for a session near you.
