Hello and welcome to Monkey Music South Woodford and Chingford.My name is Melanie and I discovered Monkey Music in 2004 when my little girl Izelle was six months old. As a new mum not only was it great to get out of the house and have something to do with her that we both loved, I was also so impressed with the way she was able to concentrate and how much she took in at such a young age. The class was and still is one of the highlights of our week. Izelle is now three and still loves learning all the new songs and dances I have always worked with children and, as a trained Montesorri teacher, I firmly believe that music is a key skill in children's development and learning. After having my daughter I decided that full time work was no longer an option and I decided not to go back to working as a Montessori teacher. I felt that it was time for a change and was keen to combine my love of music with having fun and being creative with young children, and embarked on my new career as a Monkey Music teacher in South Woodford. I soon realised that this was what I was meant to do. I love singing and really enjoy coming up with new props for all my little monkeys to enjoy (the big monkeys in the class also seem to enjoy them too!) It's great seeing their little faces light up because of something that you have created. I am really looking forward to building up the classes and getting to meet all the potential llittle monkeys out there. I hope that you will enjoy the classes as much as I do.
