Hello, and welcome to Monkey Music St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted.My name is Tessa and I first became interested in Monkey Music about 7 years ago when I took my babies, Lauren and Jake, to a class. How can one fail to be impressed! The classes are a fully developed course, which provides a foundation of musical experience from a very early age. The course appeals to my creativity in presenting the material appropriately and imaginatively to young children. My interest in music began at the age of 5 when I began to play the violin (starting with a cardboard cut out!). I come from a very musical family of string players and singers, however whilst my brother has continued to play double bass in many jazz groups around the county I have put away the violin and replaced it with tambourines, maracas, woodblocks, bells and castanets! I previously studied social care and worked with children and adults in centres and schools for the handicapped and also children in mainstream schools. My involvement in Monkey Music began in August 1999 after a very hot ‘fun day’ at the Radlett Arts Centre. I now run three areas and I am very happy to have three wonderful teachers without whom I would not be able to run such a fun and rewarding business. working with me.
