Hello, I’m Claire and I run Monkey Music classes for babies and toddlers throughout Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Northwood, Eastcote, Pinner, Harrow, Hayes, Greenford, Northolt, Ruislip, Ickenham, Wembley, Stanmore, and Iver. I discovered Monkey Music when on maternity leave with my first child and we both immediately loved it. The 30-minute class is packed with activities that help all aspects of a child’s development from language and social skills to physical development. My four-year old son, now in Ding-Dong can read music and identify the instruments of the orchestra as well as sing along to all the familiar songs with gusto!
Having seen first-hand the benefits of attending Monkey Music, I jumped at the chance to run my local franchise of Harrow, Uxbridge and Edgware. We have a great team of teachers who are all looking forward to welcoming you to class so please don’t hesitate to book your complimentary class today.
More about Monkey Music
Monkey Music’s specialist teachers in Harrow, Edgware & Uxbridge, cater for babies and preschool children from three months to four years. Each week there are familiar songs so that the children feel relaxed and at home. Children listen to catchy music, sing songs, move to music and have the opportunity to play various specialist percussion instruments, such as drums, bells, maracas and castanets. Colourful, entertaining and visual props bring everything to life. Our children are so captivated by all that Monkey Music offers they hardly realise how much they are learning!
Monkey Music classes are kept small and are built around a four stage progressive curriculum so that they are tailored to your baby, toddler or preschooler’s particular stage of development:
Rock’n’Roll, our baby class from 3 months to rising 12 months encourages gentle movement and offers a sensory experience to help develop your baby’s innate musical ability. It is a wonderful bonding session for carer and baby as they delight in all the new sights and sounds on offer.
Heigh-Ho, our toddler class, takes advantage that your little one is on the move. There is ample opportunity for them to individually respond to the music and explore the instruments and the sounds they can make. Colourful, stimulating props spark their interest and enjoyment.
Jiggety-Jig, our class for 2 and 3 year olds sees your little one grow in confidence, developing their sense of rhythm, interacting with the teacher and each other and using their own initiative to move and play along to the music.
Ding-Dong, our pre-school class for 3 and 4 year olds teaches the children to read written music, follow different musical notes and learn all about the instruments of the orchestra. It is an amazing springboard from which to continue developing their musical career in school and beyond.
Award Winning Classes in Uxbridge, Harrow and the surrounding area
It’s a winning combination which has given Monkey Music thousands of fans throughout North West London and Middlesex, not only at our current venues in Harrow, Uxbridge, Eastcote/Pinner and Northwood but also amongst families from Hillingdon, Hayes, Greenford, Northolt, Ruislip, Ickenham, Wembley, Stanmore, Iver, NW9, and around the whole of the UK.
We’ve been nominated for and won several prestigious mother and baby awards including Best National Pre-Schooler Development Activity Award and Best National Toddler Development Class.
Our teachers are all specially trained and are chosen for their musicality, empathy with children and their passion for teaching and belief in the impact of music on babies’ development.
Time after time we’re told that Monkey Music classes are a highlight, not only for the babies and children, but also for parents, grandparents and carers!
The importance of Music
The ear is one of the first organs to develop and by only 11 weeks’ babies can hear and be comforted by their mother’s voice. All children are born with instinctive musicality – the thrill of seeing a baby bounce to a piece of music be it a song, a nursery rhyme or a classical concerto with a big smile on their face is heartwarming to watch but only by encouraging the development of this natural instinct will a baby and child fulfill their full musical potential.
The benefits of learning music for toddlers and very young children is becoming increasingly evident and there are many studies looking into the different effects. Action songs and rhymes build language and numerical skills; playing hand held instruments such as maracas, drums and castanets refine fine motor skills while movement helps facilitate the awareness of space and of each other. Being within a group helps build children’s confidence and social interaction. The curriculum for Monkey Music classes are developed with all these aspects in mind to help develop babies’ essential skills
The Monkey Music Family
Monkey Music classes are not just for the babies, toddlers and preschoolers but for the carers too. Coming to a class is a wonderful way to bond over a shared love of music without other distractions. Parents, grandparents and carers all benefit from the joy of the classes and we love it when everyone is singing and joining in! This experience can then be shared outside of the class too. Many carers also value the social interaction with other adultss they meet, often becoming life-long friends and look forward to the weekly interaction as much as our little ones.

Don’t just take it from us, here are some of our reviews
At Monkey Music our parents, babies and children are the best advertisement for our musical groups. So here are just a few wonderful reviews our music groups have reviewed recently:
“We have attended Kathryn's Monkey Music class for 6 years now -firstly with our daughter and currently with our son. We've always found it to be a really fun environment where our children were given an opportunity to explore all sorts of different sounds and rhythms. We feel it really helped them develop insight into how music is created and also the excitement of playing and singing in a group situation. We continue to enjoy these classes and thoroughly recommend them.”
“Fantastic! My daughter started Monkey Music classes at 3 months and loved it as a baby. She is now 4 years old and Monkey Music is still her favourite class. Kathryn’s classes are full of fun and very educational too. The children get to try out so many various instruments and learn about rhythm and dynamics. At 3 years old they can identify whether pieces of music are major (happy) or minor (sad) and even get to do some conducting! I am always impressed by the way Kathryn manages to keep the youngsters’ full attention for the entire class and thoroughly recommend Monkey Music to parents who want to increase their children’s knowledge and understanding of music as well as teach their children to be confident little performers.”
“Monkey Music Uxbridge. We have been attending Monkey Music since my daughter was 4months old, she is now 3 years old and still absolutely loves it! She continues to practice and talk about what we have done/ learnt about in her classes at home and we will definitely be signing up again with her new baby brother!”
“Magnificent Monkey Music! I cannot rate monkey music highly enough. I first started going 6 years ago - I cannot believe it's been that long - with my (now) big one. My younger daughter more or less started in the womb! She won't go to sleep without big monkey and Mo either side of her. She is hypnotised by the songs and sounds in Monkey Music and even tonight I asked her what she wants to do tomorrow and she said monkey music! A big endorsement from a fussy 3-year-old!”
“Monkey Music in Uxbridge - Amazing!! I have attended Monkey Music in Uxbridge with both of my daughters and they absolutely loved their classes. The classes are structured and educational but very enjoyable. They have gained skills for life and a real genuine love for music and even dance. I travel all the way from Slough to Uxbridge for a 30min class as they enjoy their classes so much.”
Monkey Music classes for babies and toddlers in Pinner. “I've been attending Monkey Music classes with my DS since he was six months old, and both he and I love it! The classes are warm, friendly and perfectly tailored to each age group. He has learnt to listen and concentrate and can now identify different instruments and the sounds they make, as well as grasping rhythms and beats. The teachers, Kathryn and Viv are lovely and know how to attract the attention of 3 year olds in a gentle and encouraging way. I think it has set him up perfectly for the start of his learning journey and we will be sad to leave the classes once he starts school.”
“Fantastic introduction to music! I have been going to Monkey Music classes for 7 and a half years with all three of my children. They have loved the memorable songs, the actions and of course the delightful monkey who is now looking very well worn but loved in our household. All mine love music and I have found this a fantastic introduction. My older two are now learning to play the piano and my youngest can't wait to go every Wednesday morning.”
“Our favourite music class activity! We've been attending classes since my dd was around 4 months old. There are different classes for each age group which really helps the little ones develop without them getting bored. Keeps both the small people and adults engaged. It's lovely watching the children interact with the music and instruments. Kathryn is a fantastic teacher and has the children mesmerized in class!”
