My name is Kathryn Burrows, and having studied at the Royal College of Music and Boston University Tanglewood Institute (USA) I worked as a professional musician for 15 years. I loved my job and played in some fantastic venues, but once I had children of my own I quickly realised that the musicians’ lifestyle of late nights and touring was not family friendly! A colleague introduced me to Monkey Music in 1999, and I took my three-year-old daughter along for our complimentary class. She loved it, and I was so impressed with the quality of the curriculum, the high standard of teaching and the resources provided that I immediately enquired into running a franchise area of my own. Since my son was only six weeks old at that time it took me a while to get organised, but I was delighted to open Monkey Music Uxbridge, Harrow and Edgware in September 2000. Since then I have welcomed over 2500 children to sing, dance, play and learn at Monkey Music. I look forward to welcoming you too!
