Monkey Music offers award winning, music classes suitable from Newborn to young children of four years - we also welcome families from North Finchley, Barnet, Totteridge, Whetstone, Arkley and the surrounding areas too!  You can join our classes at anytime, simply book in for a complimentary class. Our age specific, baby and toddler classes are fun, educational and include a wide variety of musical activities, games, movement, singing and song.  We use fascinating sounds and absorbing musical activities to encourage learning and our weekly class songs gives familiarity to ensure the children feel relaxed and at home during the class. Watching the babies and toddler's confidence grow week on week is a real highlight for me! At Monkey Music we have a great deal of resources that we use to make sure our classes are fun and unique.  We have special percussion instruments, ranging from drums; which are a favourite of the toddlers to rain makers and wind chimes that totally captivate the babies with their magical sounds. Each child is able to touch and play with instruments creating their own music either individually or with another little one. We also use rhymes, puppets and visual props to captivate the babies and toddlers to ensure each song comes to life.  Our pre- school children start to learn about the orchestra, rhythm, graphic notation and get to experience all the instruments too.  It is truly amazing to see how the children grow and develop in confidence and the 'age specific' curricula is key to this.  Grouped into small classes by age, we focus on the children's learning and developmental stages in a fun, friendly and safe environment. Babies and children are encouraged by the teacher and parents/carers to experiment with the instruments, props and explore the musical resources around them. 

Along with Monkey and Mo we have a fabulous team of teachers here in Barnet, all of whom have a huge passion for musical learning and working with babies and young children.  Class teachers are chosen for their natural ability to communicate, captivate and entertain babies, toddlers and their families.  Our teachers have bags of energy and parents, carers, grandparents are encouraged to join in, to share some precious time with their child.  It's truly special to watch the parents and carers bond with the children through sharing different experiences each week.  many parents/carers that I speak to say that it is the highlight of their child's week, but it is theirs too and we often see lots of friendships form which is another reason why Monkey Music is so special.
