Vicky, Grace, Daria and I run classes in Wendover, Aston Clinton, Haddenham, Tring, Aylesbury and High Wycombe. Check out our timetable for details and to book a class. You can join us for a free trial before committing to weekly classes - just click on the link to book online and it will take you through the steps to book your complimentary class.

Once you join, we ask you to commit to attending weekly classes on a regular basis rather than drop-ins. This provides a regular and consistent routine for your little one, where they build on what they have learnt each week. It enables us to run relatively small classes so that your child can get personal attention from their teacher to support their development.

Our classes run during the school term time, but we offer holiday workshops during the breaks, so please look out for details about our holiday workshops taking place at Christmas, Easter and in the summer.

It's been a crazy year and a half with moving from face to face classes to online, to back to face to face and then online again but fingers crossed we are back face to face for good now, but still with COVID safety in mind, so we ask you to be conscious of other families' space and wear a mask on entry and exit but not once sat down on your mats! Your and our teacher's safety is our utmost priority. It's so important during this time to keep our minds and bodies both physicially and mentally active and Monkey Music is the perfect way to escape from the craziness of the past 18 months and share some precious time with your little ones.

Our Classes

Monkey Music runs a progressive curriculum in 4 different age categories so are built specifically for a baby or child’s development needs at that stage of their life. Most importantly, they are great fun for both you and your child! There are lots of opportunities for bonding with your little one as well as singing, movement and playing instruments. The curriculum has been developed with experts in education and child pschology, and the songs we sing are a combination of original pieces written by the team at Monkey Music, alongside well known nursery rhymes. If you're anything like me, you'll learn to love the Monkey Music songs and look forward to singing them with your little ones every week.

Rock'n'Roll For Babies aged 3 - 12 months

Our first stage of classes are just wonderful. We focus on gentle songs and fascinating sounds, instroducing simple rhythms and helping your little ones to develop through tracking sounds, exploring instruments, and feeling the beat of the music, listening to familiar songs and most importantly your voice!

Heigh-Ho for Toddlers aged 12 - 24 months

In our second stage, when your little ones are moving all over the place and exploring, we introduce catchy songs to them and upbeat tunes to keep them engaged! Your little ones are really enjoying making their own music and love recognising the familiar tunes and actions. Repetition is key to development and toddlers love dancing along to our weekly class songs

Jiggety-Jig for Toddlers aged 2 & 3

In Jiggety-Jig, our little ones are enjoying interacting with the other children in the class. As well as having lots of fun dancing to their favourite Monkey Music songs, and singing along, we introduce the fundamentals of a strong musical foundation, such as listening to each other, waiting their turn, and even composing their own masterpieces! There's much fun to be had with many props too!

Ding-Dong for 3 & 4 year olds

In our fourth and final stage of Monkey Music, our little ones are ready to start to learn to read music! We introduce this in a clever and simple way with the Kodaly method which uses visual aids to help introduce the concept of translating symbols into musical notes or direction. Our little ones start to compose their own rhythms and are also encouraged and supported to sing solos in class if they are comfortable to do so!

More About Me!

After loving taking my own daughters to classes, it's so wonderful to be able to bring the magic to you!

I have always been passionate about music and singing so I was keen to take my two daughters to Monkey Music classes when they were babies. It quickly became the highlight of our week so I jumped at the chance to launch a franchise and bring the joy of the classes to High Wycombe and Aylesbury! My eldest daughter has attended the entire curriculum, and it’s been amazing to see how music plays a role in all aspects of her development; social, language and physical. Even though she's completed Monkey Music now, she still loves all the songs and enjoys joining in with me while I'm practising at home.

I have sung in various choirs for most of my life including the City of London Choir, and perform in amateur musical productions, having recently played the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, and Mother Superior in Sister Act. This, combined with a keen interest in child development makes being a Monkey Music teacher a dream career!

Vicky joined me in January and is doing a spectacular job running classes in Wendover and High Wycombe, whilst I currently teach in High Wycombe, Haddenham, and Aston Clinton.

Daria has just joined the team and teaches our Tring classes. Daria is a Russian folk singer and a Monkey Music mum herself!

Grace has just joined the team and teaches in Fairford Leys and Haddenham and I can promise you lots of fun with her! She's an actress and singing teacher as well as mum to 2 lovely boys.

The Monkey Team

Sally Williamson

Hi I'm Sally and I'm excited to be bringing Monkey Music to babies and toddlers in Aylesbury and High Wycombe!

Singing has been my passion ever since I can remember, having sung in choirs, a band, and taken part in musicals, so to find a job where I can sing to babies and toddlers is a dream!

Daria Kulesh

Hi I'm Daria and music is my life-long passion. I came across Monkey Music as a new mum and loved it instantly! It's such a joy watching babies and toddlers discover the world, and I'm so excited and privileged to guide them on their journey of magic and wonder!

Grace Hardy

Making music is a big part my day with my 2 little boys, so I jumped at the chance to bring my passion for music and education to the local area with Monkey Music. I've had a varied career performing and teaching and hope I can inspire your little ones to have a life long love of music like me!

Vicky Riley

I graduated with a first-class honours degree in musical theatre and have gone on to teach and perform in the industry. Monkey Music captured my heart with it’s meaningful curriculum and catchy songs. I absolutely love sharing my passion for music and seeing all the children enjoy the classes!

Is there any social distancing at Monkey Music Classes? From 19th July 2021, our class set up will ensure that our families participate in a Monkey Music experience at a comfortable social distance from each other. Families will be reminded that whilst some may feel comfortable letting their children socialise (especially if attending with friends), others may not and so they should still be vigilant and respect the wishes of other families.
Will it be necessary to wear a face covering to a Monkey Music session? From 19th July 2021, we are implementing a new policy where adult carers are required to wear a face covering until seated with their family on a mat in the classroom. Whilst remaining seated, the wearing of a face covering is optional. However, whilst moving around the classroom, adult carers should wear a face covering. The safety of our families is paramount and families are reminded to respect the wishes of other families who make a personal choice to wear a face covering at all times.
What is your Health and Safety plan around Covid-19? Please see our Monkey Music Covid-19 Health and Safety plan here which details the measures we are putting in place to keep everyone safe at Monkey Music.
What do the classes involve? Monkey Music is an interactive award winning musical curriculum. Classes are small and tailor-made for babies and young children who are grouped according to their age. Each child is accompanied by their carer. Little ones sing, dance and play musical instruments. Grown ups join in the fun too!
Do you offer ‘mixed age’ classes? Because of the progressive nature of our curricula which is age specific, we do not offer regular weekly mixed classes. However, during the holidays, many of our teachers offer mixed age holiday workshops.
What do you expect of the children, do they have to sit down the whole time? Each class is carefully structured and formatted so that every child and carer is encouraged to join in with the fun. Classes are paced according to each age group with the opportunity for little ones to be up on their feet during ‘Time to Move’ and sitting with their carers during ‘Time to Play’ and ‘Time to Sleep’. Most children quickly learn what is happening next and Monkey helps them with friendly encouragement!
Why are Monkey Music classes 30 minutes long? Our classes have been honed and developed over 25 years and are designed to fully captivate babies and young children for the duration. The very interactive nature of every class means that our little monkeys need to rest again after 30 minutes of magical music making!
Why is Monkey Music more expensive than the other music groups around? Monkey Music has been established for over 25 years and is proud to have a rich musical heritage. We offer a unique and progressive learning experience for your child, which is supported by over 500 original songs and musical activities. Our talented teachers are carefully chosen and trained to offer the highest standard of pre-school music education.
What makes Monkey Music classes so special? Monkey Music classes are considered a leading light in pre-school education. Come along for a free class to see for yourself what make Monkey Music classes the highlight of the week for so many families across the UK!
What if I miss my usual class? Should you miss a class, or your teacher is unable to teach, you will be invited to join in at home with a link to a special pre-recorded Monkey Music class. You may enjoy this class as many times as you would like over the week. Subject to availability, it may also be possible for you to attend a class in person to catch up or make up for a missed class. Please speak to your teacher for more details.
What do I need to bring with me? Everything you need to enjoy our classes is made available by the teacher, however, should you prefer not to use the Monkey Music instruments provided at class (these will have been freshly santised for each customer prior to use), you may bring your own Monkey Music approved instruments purchased from our online shop or identical items bought elsewhere. You may also bring along your own small blanket for your child to sit on.
Can I bring a newborn baby too? Babes in arms accompanying older siblings are welcome in our classes free of charge, please speak to your local classes for more information.
Why don’t you offer drop-in classes? We value musical education as a fundamental part of early development, and as such our regular weekly classes are progressive to maximise the learning potential of each child.
Do I have to be musical? No! Our teachers will make you feel welcome whatever your musical ability.
Do I have to sing along? We love it when our families join in and your children benefit from hearing the sound of a familiar voice, no matter how good or bad! At step 4 of the roadmap, we are encouraging everyone to sing quietly and directly to their own children. Customers may enjoy our songs at home by purchasing our class specific download albums or books - all available from our online shop.
Can I bring an adult friend/relative to class? Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that only one adult accompanies the child/children to Monkey Music classes.
Can I opt out of the membership fee? No, our online club is designed to support the learning experience of children at our regular classes and is a popular go-to places between classes to enjoy making Monkey Music at home.
Is it OK for me to take photos or video in class? No, we politely request that you refrain from taking photos or videos at class.
Why pay a membership fee? When enrolling in Monkey Music for the first time, a child becomes a member of our online Monkey Music Club. New members receive a Welcome Pack, including a Monkey Music T-shirt, beautiful sticker pack and milestone card as well as access to our online club which supports the child in their learning experience at Monkey Music. The membership fee is payable when registering each child in regular weekly classes at Monkey Music and we offer a discount to siblings who join at any stage. Siblings receive their own welcome pack and T-shirt to wear to class. Ask your local classes for more details.
How do I cancel my class booking? You can cancel your booking at any time within 15 calendar days from your booking confirmation date if you have not had face to face contact with your franchisee when making that booking. To exercise your right you must inform your franchisee in writing of your decision to cancel within the cancellation period. In addition to the above you can end your enrolment for terms of regular classes with Monkey Music on giving at least one month’s prior written notice to be received by your franchisee by 1st day of the month prior to the month your next payment is due. For those paying monthly. If you have chosen to pay monthly then notice must be received by the first day of the month prior to the month your next payment is due. Provided your notice to terminate has been received by your franchisee by the 1st of the month before the next payment is due then the contract will end and you will not be required to pay the next payment.

How do I become a Monkey Music franchisee? For more details, please click here
What happens at a Monkey Music Birthday Party? See More Fun on the main website.
Do classes just run during term time? Regular classes run during term time. Many areas also run seasonal Holiday Workshops during school holidays.
How many children are in a class? During our transition to classes due to Covid-19, places are limited and will vary from venue to venue. Our maximum capacity is 15 children per class.
Do I have to pay in advance? Yes. After your first complimentary class you reserve your place and you may choose to pay for our regular weekly classes either monthly or termly. Monthly payments will be due on the 1st of a month for classes booked in that month. Customers joining midway through a month will be charged for the remainder of classes in that month. Customers booking prior to the start of term will be charged for classes in the first month of booking. Termly payments will be due on the 1st of the month that each term commences. Customers joining midway through a term will be charged on booking for the remainder of classes in that term. Customers booking prior to the start of term will be charged for the term on the day of booking. You will be notified by email ahead of each payment taken and also when payment has been taken.
How much does a class cost? Please ask at your local Monkey Music Office.
Can I try a class before I sign up to a course? Yes. You and your child are invited along for a free complimentary class when making an initial booking enquiry.
At what age can my child start Monkey Music? From 3 months old.
How long is a class? Half an hour. Each 30 minute class is a significant step in our progressive curricula. Classes are carefully planned to maximise the attention span of a very young child so that they learn from sharing a rewarding, enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
Are all the teachers musically trained? All Monkey music teachers are specifically trained on delivering the Monkey Music curriculum. Many of them are professional musicians and teachers.
Are the classes different for each age group? Yes. Our curriculum is structured and progressive. Rock’n'Roll: from 3 months Heigh-Ho: from 12 months Jiggety-Jig: 2 + 3 year olds Ding-Dong: 3 + 4 year olds
Can babies relate to music at such a young age? The ear is the first organ to develop fully in the womb. From five months, an unborn baby can hear the world around them. Early exposure to music encourages babies to develop their musical ear which supports all aspects of early learning and development. Just as language skills are developed early in life, so is musical talent. Regardless of the level of music aptitude with which children are born, they must have formal and informal experiences in music to maintain that level of potential.
