30 Years of Monkey Music
2023 marked a significant milestone for Monkey Music as we celebrated our 30th birthday.
Over the past 30 years, our incredible Monkey Music Teachers and Principals have shared our classes with over a million young families across the UK and they have loved every single minute!
The power of music has always been very important for Monkey Music and it is the reason why we have a close relationship with our charity partner, Nordoff and Robbins.
Nordoff and Robbins is the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated children and adults.
To celebrate our 30th year we decided to raise as much money as possible for Nordoff and Robbins by having lots of fun with our families.
Monkey’s Fundraising Birthday Parties
To kick off our fundraising activities, our teachers hosted nearly 100 Birthday Parties and Monkey travelled the length and breadth of the country to share his birthday message by making some personal appearances.
30 prizes in our Free Prize Draw
But what’s a celebration without presents?
All our families attending weekly classes, were given a special 30th Birthday Card from Monkey who invited them to enter our monthly Free Prize Draw. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our amazing partners who generously donated 30 incredible prizes. Your support made our celebrations even more special, so thank you.
30 members of Team Monkey Run the Royal Parks Half Marathon
But the fun didn’t stop there! During 2023, a team of Monkey Music teachers, franchisees, parents, friends and family, donned their running shoes and started training for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October.
On the day, in 24-degree heat, our amazing Team Monkey completed the 13.1 miles and all crossed the finish line! It was an incredible day and a fantastic effort by all involved and it couldn’t have happened without the wonderful Alison Norman from Monkey Music Tunbridge Wells, who gathered all of us for the event and kept everyone motivated right up to the finish line.
£30,000 and some!
So…DRUMROLL PLEASE - now for some fantastic news! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that in total, our fundraising efforts throughout the year mean that we have raised just over £32,000 for Nordoff and Robbins! THANK YOU to every single person who has donated, from all of us at Monkey Music and at Nordoff and Robbins.
