We are very excited to announce the launch of a brand-new series of events starting 5th December and heading into 2025… The Magic of Music!
The Magic of Music consists of 4 separate interactive workshops aimed at young families who have babies up to 12 months, and the residents of Garden City Court Care Home in Letchworth, so that the magic of making music can be enjoyed together.
We all know the very special impact music has both in early years development, and amongst older generations in our community and I wanted to launch a series of events where we could celebrate this, and support our local community.
Beth, Key Activities Co-Ordinator at Garden City Court Care Home said:
“We’re delighted to be hosting these exciting new events with Monkey Music! As we all know, music has no barriers and can have a wonderfully uplifting effect. Being around young children is always magical and we know our residents will really love the opportunity to have something they can enjoy which combines the magical effect of music in shared company.
“We know that with modern day living many families don’t get the opportunity to engage with the older generation as they are not always local to their older relatives. For those who no longer have Grandparents to share time with, these new events will provide the perfect opportunity for little ones to engage with older generations too.”
What to expect?
These events will follow the same format as a regular Monkey Music session, with a special theme for each one. The session will take place as normal in the centre of the room, whilst care home residents will watch from the side lines and be able to join in with their own instruments too. There will also be time at the end to stay and mingle if you wish to.
When are they?
The first Magic of Music event will launch at Garden City Court Care Home in Letchworth on 5th December 2024 at 2:30pm (for 1 hour) where residents will get to share in baby’s very first musical Christmas! Events will be open to all local families with babies (0-12months) and booking online is open now. Sessions are £10.50 per baby, which includes up to 2 adults.
