Get creative this Easter with these fun musical Easter activities for children!

Easter is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to get creative and have some fun at home with your little ones. We’ve put together some great Easter-themed activities from egg decorating to Easter egg hunts, plus homemade musical instruments to add a musical twist to your celebrations!

Easter Egg Decorating:

One of the classic Easter activities is decorating eggs. Set up a decorating station with hard-boiled eggs, paint, markers, stickers, and other craft supplies. Encourage your little ones to let their imaginations run wild as they create colourful and unique designs on their eggs. You can display the finished masterpieces around the house or use them for an Easter egg hunt later on.

Easter Egg Hunt:

What's Easter without an egg hunt? Hide chocolate eggs or small surprises around your home or garden. Provide baskets or bags for your children to collect the eggs as they search high and low. You can even add a musical twist to your egg hunt by playing some Monkey Music tunes in the background.

Homemade Musical Instruments:

Get creative and make your own musical instruments using simple household items. Here are a few ideas to try:

  • Easter Shakers: Fill containers such as empty cereal boxes, crisp tubes etc with rice, beans, or small beads and seal shut with tape and decorate. Then let your children shake away to the rhythm of their favourite Monkey Music songs.

  • Carrot Kazoos: Paint toilet roll tubes orange and attach a small piece of grease-proof paper to the bottom with an elastic band or sticky-tape. Hum into the open end of the ‘carrot’ to create a kazoo-like sound!

  • Rainsticks: Take empty paper towel rolls and cover one end with paper and secure with sticky-tape or an elastic band. Fill the tube with rice or dried beans, then cover the other end with another piece of paper. Decorate the outside with Easter stickers or paint, and tilt the rainstick back and forth to create soothing rain-like sounds.

  • Egg Box Xylophone: Cut an empty cardboard egg box in half, turn upside down and paint each cup a different colour to create a colourful xylophone effect. Children can tap on the cups with a wooden spoon.

Easter Crafts:

In addition to decorating eggs, there are plenty of other Easter-themed crafts you can try. Create bunny ears headbands, paper plate chicks, or tissue paper flowers to add a festive touch to your home. Let your children's creativity shine as they explore different textures, colours, and shapes.
