Music by Royal Appointment
The King has commissioned 12 new pieces of music for his Coronation: all from world-renowned British composers. Half the new music is being performed by an orchestra before the service begins. There is a new Coronation Anthem by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Scottish film composer, Patrick Doyle (who wrote the music for Harry Potter and the Goblets of Fire) has composed a Coronation March. It should be great close-up viewing for our Monkey Music families, especially our Ding-Dong children who are learning about the Orchestra!
Among the musicians performing at the service are some Monkey Music parents and friends - we wish you and all the musicians the very best of luck on the day! Tune in to watch the special Coronation orchestra, some incredible leading British soloists, a hand-picked gospel choir, the choir of Westminster Abbey, the royal harpist and the dazzling Trumpeters of the Royal Air Force…and more!
