Sharing the Joy of Music: How Parents and Little Ones Learn Together at Monkey Music

At Monkey Music, we’re passionate about giving babies, toddlers and young children the best possible start through the magic of music. Whether it’s a baby’s very first clap to a beat or a toddler marching proudly with a drum, our progressive music classes are carefully designed to support early child development while creating joyful, shared experiences for families.

A musical foundation for life

From the very beginning, music plays a vital role in how babies and young children explore and understand the world. Research shows that exposure to music from a young age helps support cognitive development, emotional wellbeing, language acquisition, listening skills, and physical co-ordination. At Monkey Music, our curriculum is built around these key developmental milestones, offering babies and toddlers age-appropriate activities that are as fun as they are beneficial.

Our unique, five-stage curriculum grows with your child — from newborns to preschoolers — helping to lay the foundations for a lifelong love of music while nurturing essential early years skills.

Real instruments, real benefits

One of the things that sets Monkey Music apart is our commitment to using real, age appropriate musical instruments in every class. From drums and triangles to maracas and bells, babies and toddlers engage directly with sound, rhythm and melody. These hands-on experiences not only build fine and gross motor skills but also promote curiosity, focus and sensory awareness.

Our teachers sing along to specially composed backing tracks and use real instruments to demonstrate different sounds, timbres and rhythms — some of which are introduced for children to explore, while others are there to inspire listening and observation. This exposure to high-quality sound experiences encourages children to connect what they see and hear, sparking imagination and boosting confidence.

Expert teachers, nurturing environment

Our highly trained Monkey Music teachers are early years music specialists, carefully selected for their warmth, energy and musical ability. Every class is delivered in a welcoming, inclusive setting where parents and carers are actively involved, creating a sense of shared discovery.

Whether it’s a baby giggling at a gentle lullaby or a toddler confidently singing along, the bond between parent and child is at the heart of everything we do. Our sessions are designed to be joyful, supportive and rooted in routine — providing babies, toddlers and young children with a safe space to grow and thrive.

The joy of sharing music together

At Monkey Music, we believe music is one of the most meaningful ways to connect with your child. Singing, clapping, moving and listening together helps build emotional bonds while also supporting important developmental milestones. Even the simplest musical moments can spark joy, curiosity and calm — from a gentle song before bed to a shared rhythm game in class.

By sharing your own love of music with your baby or toddler, you’re not only creating special memories but also laying the groundwork for a lifetime of creativity, communication and confidence.

The Monkey Music Club – keep the music going at home

For families who want to continue the musical fun beyond class time, our exclusive Monkey Music Club offers monthly films, downloadable activities, games, competitions and more.
