If we if we see there's a big demand for a particular class, we may be able to add another one, so please help us figure it out by adding your child, it can sometimes only take a few days for us to find a space for you.
We are a husband and wife team who have been running local Monkey Music classes for babies and toddlers since 2010. How do they do it?! Quite simply by having completely different roles and not seeing much of each other during the working day! Eloise runs the office, along with her brother Zed who owns the Maida Vale area. Eloise previously worked for 15 years in television production. Alex has a background as a teacher and actor in theatre and television. We work with an impressive team of professional singers, musicians and actors who we are fortunate to call friends and have been working with for many years.
Alex still gets the same buzz from teaching young children as he did when he first started as the class cobines all of his passions: music, teaching, performing and playingg with kids!
In 2012 Alex was awarded "Most Outstanding Activity Leader for Under 5's - South" in the National What’s On For Little Ones awards and he heads up a team of talented and inspiring teachers All of our teachers love running their classes and are passionate about introducing music into the lives of babies, toddlers and children in a way that makes listening, playing and dancing to music an exciting event that the children want to enjoy when they’re at home as well as in class. Music is an important first line of communication between adults and children and we enjoy introducing you and your children to fun new ways of playing and learning together. Many of the activities that we introduce in class can be enjoyed at home too and we will often send you home with ideas for new games and activities. We pride ourselves on providing a music class that toddlers and babies will thrive in.
The progressive nature of the curriculum means that families often stay with us for several years. We meet our little monkeys as babies in Rock’n’Roll when they are just starting to explore new sights and sounds, beginning to track objects and instruments, responding to exciting new sounds and learning about object permanence. We then often then have the privilege of mentoring their musical development right up until our Ding-Dong level for 3 and 4 year-olds, where they start to be able to recognise the different sections of the orchestra and start learning the basics of notation. It is very difficult to say goodbye at the last class, but we are lucky enough to see our little monkeys again for holiday workshops or when they come back to say hello with their younger siblings.
Each of the four levels of Monkey Music is designed around the interests and capabilities of the children’s specific age groups. Classes combine traditional nursery rhymes and original Monkey Music songs. We use a wide variety of colourful props and musical teaching resources to create a lovely environment for fun and learning.
We have classes almost every day at Notting Hill Gate (W8 side), two different venues on Portobello Road (W11), St Stephen's Church at the end of Westbourne Park Road and three venues in Kensington, just off the High Street.
We look forward to meeting you, and your little monkeys very soon!
Monkey Music Notting Hill is independently owned by Rocket Baby LLP operating a franchise granted by Monkey Music Limited.

The Monkey Team

Alex Trippier
I've been teaching Monkey Music since 2010 and have three children of my own. I have a background in performance and education. I am passionate about my classes and am convinced that Monkey Music is the best way to encourage your children to have a fun and exciting relationship with music.

Eliza Hewitt
As a singer and actress I have a passion for lots of different musical styles, and I love to combine performance into my classes and make learning fun. My experience as a teacher and choral director also inspires a sense of structure and community within lessons.

Marina
After graduating at the Guildford School of Acting as an Actor-Musician, I have worked as both a musician and actress, and began teaching in 2018. I enjoy combining storytelling with music, and have specialised in early years teaching throughout my career. I love helping children

Max Sterne
I am a trained actor and I belong to a professional acting troop. I joined the team in 2015 and have had the privilege of teaching over 200 hundred children every week since then. It is a deeply rewarding experience to watch children flourish over the years.

Windson Liong
I am a trained actor/singer with a Master's Degree in Music Theatre from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I have more than 18 years (and counting) of teaching experience.I absolutely love going on adventures with Monkey and his friends in Monkey Music, come and join the fun!
